Support & Guidance
Staff at the Sixth Form centre are subject specialists, highly qualified and experienced in teaching Sixth Form students. You will encounter a different, more independent style of teaching and learning, and our staff will help you make this transition. Every student is treated as an individual and we will look after your needs in a supportive and adult manner.
When you join the Sixth Form centre you will be placed in a tutor group, led by your personal tutor. Your personal tutor will look after day to day administration, give you help, advice and encouragement and deal, in confidence, with any concerns you may have over coursework or personal matters. Monitoring your progress on a regular basis is critically important to helping you plan your work. Your personal tutor will help you with individual action planning supported by subject teachers in class. Consultation evenings take place during the academic year at which you and your parents or guardians can meet staff and discuss your progress. In addition, we welcome the opportunity to talk with you and your parents or guardians at any time, should the need arise. Careers Advice
We have a well-resourced Careers Suite and staff offer expert advice on employment and university applications. A rich programme of preparation for university applications is offered through the curriculum to all students. The success rate through UCAS is excellent.
