What is Careers?
The Citizenship Department at Don Valley High School plays
a vital part in the preparation of our students for adult life. Through careers
education and guidance, our students lay the foundations fro personal autonomy
and effectiveness in their careers and working lives. They learn the knowledge,
skills and attitudes, which enable them to make decisions wisely and to manage
career transitions.
Careers education and guidance also enhances the motivation
of our students to learn and to achieve, it encourages them to pursue relevant
and realistic goals for education, training and work, which are based on high
aspirations and expectations of success

Targeted students are automatically made appointments. However a request service is available for students who feel they would like extra guidance.
The Advisor is also present at Family Reviews and Parents evening.
The school has a large Careers Library, offering a range of
software, books and videos to help students make informed decisions
We also have a designated area specifically for Sixth Form
students. This includes extensive information for students wishing to go on
to university.
