Don Valley Academy

The Y8 team travelled to Kingstone School last night to play in the 2nd round of the South Yorkshire Cup.

After a evenly matched 1st half, the Don Valley boys went on to win 5-2 and now face Meadowhead School in the next round.

Our next fixture is against Sir Thomas Wharton in the English School Cup.

The PE department have started the year off with huge efforts from all the PE staff and a great deal of support from numerous other staff members both in training and at fixtures.

In the first half term we had a number of PE successes with our teams. Here is a run down:

• Y8, 9, 10 & 11 Doncaster Rugby League Champions
• Y8 & Y9 South Yorkshire Rugby League Champions
• 6th form have progressed to the 3rd round of the English Schools and S. Yorkshire Football Cups
• Y8 and Y9 won their 1st round games to reach the 2nd round of the English Schools Football Cup
• Y10 have progreessed to the 2nd round of the Doncaster Football Cup after beating Campsmount 1-0
• Y7 made a winning start to their 7-a-side football league with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss.

With more games to come over the next 2 weeks and the girls making a start to their fixtures season i’m sure this list will continue to grow.
