Why Should You Choose Health and Social Care As One Of Your Options?

Is it the right subject for you?
If you want a career in Health and Social Care, then this course is for you! Dependant upon how hard you work, you could get either 1 or 2 GCSEs by studying this subject.

How can you progress from the OCR Level 2 National Award in Health and Social Care?
You could then be a trainee care assistant, work with children or continue studying in the 6th Form.

You will learn about the compulsory units of :

• Communicating with service users in care settings
• Practical caring

You will also have the option to study ONE of the following option units

• Hygiene and safety in care settings
OR
• Child development
OR
• First Aid

You may also get to complete additional courses and get another certificate for this. These courses include First Aid, Sign Language, Disability Awareness and Moving and Handling.
